About Taitexma Knitting Machines
A Place for Knitting Machine Enthusiasts
TAITEXMA®ENT CORP. was found in 1998, Rooted in TAIWAN and they also are invested in export-oriented factories in MAINLAND CHINA. These knitting machines are made in Taiwan and China. As to the quality of these machines, only time will tell, but from what I understand they are BROTHER clones and all if not most BROTHER Accessories will work with this machine. As of 2014 they have only a few models, shown below and are punch card machines and that is still the case in 2016. They do have designs on entering the market with electric/computerized machines, but when I do not know. Please refer to ALLBRANDS for the most current and up to date information since these have only been in the market for a few years.
My "PERSONAL" opinion is that I am not fond of anything coming out of China because they have a terrible reputation when it comes to quality of any product, it is usually cheaply made. I rarely if EVER buy anything from China except for fabric, they have beautiful silks and I also would buy yarn due to the lower cost but take care even with yarn as descriptions can be miss leading, such as cashmere yarn only being 10% cashmere, and you have to factor in international shipping. TAITEXMA claims to be less expensive than Silver Reed as a selling point, but that is comparing oranges to apples and the same as comparing Brother to Silver Reed; they are both fruit but very different fruit and Silver Reed are only a few hundred dollars more. If you compare the two machines, you will see a difference in workmanship, and I am a die hard fan of Silver Reed even though not a fan of their pricing, but anything coming out of Japan is very well made, and I do mean ANY product. Also, Brother is a trusted and well known brand that has proved it's quality, so I would keep that in mind. Over time this could also be the story for TAITEXMA.
